Amy’s Pick: Lewisia Bediviva

Amy’s Pick of the day is an illustration of a flower from the genus called “lewisia”, named after explorer Meriwhether Lewis. This particular species, lewisia bediviva, is the state flower of Montana. It is also known as “bitterroot”. Bitterroot grows low to the ground in rocky soil, and produces beautiful blooms that range from white to deep red.
