Amy’s Pick of the Day is an illustration of a classic Gibson Girl. This characterization of women was designed by the early 20th century illustrator, Charles Gibson, and portrays the ultimate icon of American beauty at that time as having youthful features and hair piled on top of her head. She was supposed to be confident, independent and charming.
