With strawberry season right around the corner, today’s image of a layer cake dripping with yummy strawberries would be great for a kitchen decor project.  Use it to decorate your canned preserves or as a gift tag for a homemade treat.   Click here to see project ideas.

Fun Easter Traditions

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

Easter for me seems to always center around traditions.  Those things we do every year whether we remember why we started doing them or not. Everyone put on their “Sunday best” with tends to include little suits & ties, white gloves, hats or bonnets and little purses. And don’t forget the great food at brunch (warm cinnamon rolls or breakfast casseroles) or dinner (think Honey baked  ham). The foods were delicious and the conversation was a part that always made the day fun and exciting.

One way we continue traditions of my childhood today is through the “Lamb Cake”. It was something my parents always had at Easter and its something fun my mother shared with my son last Easter.  The cake was always more fun to look at that to eat, but it’s the fact that we continue the tradition that makes it special to me.

So this Easter carry on your family traditions or simply make up new ones to share.  The key is to share them with those you love.  People will remember and cherish the memories that you took the time to set the table, bake a cake, invited them over for food and conversation and generally made them feel special for that one day. Don’t forget the chocolate and colored eggs!

What is your favorite Easter tradition or memory? Post a comment and share it with us.  Maybe we can use your idea to start a new tradition!!

Until next time…
