After a long day, a luxurious bath can calm your nerves, soak away stress and leave you totally refreshed. A fancy bottle filled with bath salts is a perfect gift to make for yourself or give away to friends and family.

Aromatherapy Bath Salts

3 cups Epson or Dead Sea salts

2 cups baking soda

1 cup table salt

Food coloring

Essential oils (add your favorites)

Glycerin (optional)

  1. Mix salts and baking soda in large glass or metal bowl using metal spoon.
  2. Add coloring a drop at a time and mix well. If mixing colors, combine before adding to salt/soda mixture.
  3. Slowly add essential oils until desired fragrance is achieved
  4. Add Glycerin for moisturizing if you have dry skin
  5. Use funnel to pour salts into bottles

    I have been researching bath salts and I just read the other day that combining the salts with baking soda has caused many glass bottles to explode. I hope this is not true.
