Create fun vintage Valentine’s Day cards for your special someone. Combine imagery from The Vintage Workshop with old wallpaper samples, vintage letters/papers to create beautiful decorative cards and tags.
scraps of vintage wallpaper or use printed imagery from The Vintage Workshop
Trims, buttons, ribbons, etc for embellishing (try using old broken jewelry for some bling)
Cardstock or chipboard and/or small blank tags
Gold paint pen
decorative edge scissors
Double sided tape
In our sample we used a small pre-made tag and a large tag created from chipboard. We covered both with vintage wallpaper scraps (or use Vintage Wallpaper Collection printed on peel-n-stick paper). Then we edged the tags using a gold paint pen. We cut out some vintage papers using the decorative edge scissors and again edged them using the paint pen. Then adhere them to the large tag using the double sided tape.
Print your favorite focal image in various sizes. We adhered both images to a card stock backing (edging with the decorative edge scissors) and used the gold pen to color the outer edges in. For the smaller tag, we then adhered it to the tag off-set. See the sample for layout. Lastly, for the small tag we added a small flower and added a ribbon in the tag hole.
To finish the larger tag, we another wallpaper layer over the vintage paper. Again, we cut out everything with the decorative edge scissors and edged with the gold paint pen. Then adhere the last two pieces in place - see the sample for layout. Then we added a ribbon and vintage button.
Embellishing the cards/tags is your time to be creative. Add old broken jewelry bits - rhinestone earrings and pins will add bling to your cards/tags.
Create fun tags for your sweetie or a special Valentine’s Day card for your child’s teacher!! Until next time…
