As we drive around Missouri and Kansas, I’ve seen a lot of what I’ve been told is “Fall Clematis.” I don’t remember noticing it before, but it seems to be prolific this year on fences and walls. Maybe the weather and amount of rain we’ve received this year has something to do with it, but their beauty is welcome after the hot midwest summer and as a prelude to the changing leaves.
Looking at this image from The Vintage Workshop brings to mind the beauty I am seeing now. This image would make a great journal cover - purchase one already made, then cover it with a fabric from your collection and/or just print the image and adhere to the front. Your creativity will make it event better! Free instructions on journal making are available in in the Project Gallery of The Vintage Workshop website or searching the blog.
Also fast and fun to make for gifts - a guest towel with the Clematis image stitched on a tan ticking or a purchased homespun towel. Try adding some decorative stitching around the image. What a special gift to let someone know you are thinking of them!
Don’t forget you can get printable cotton fabrics to print your images on from your home computer at The Vintage Workshop.
