Mother's Day Gift Box

I love creating things for my mother. She is also a crafter at heart and is the one person in my life who I know will truly appreciate all the work I might put into the “wrapping” or gift box the gift actually comes in.

I created these series of gift boxes last Mother’s Day for my mother, sister and a few other special women in my life.  It was super easy to create using a brown craft paper box I picked up at my local craft store, lots of images printed from The Vintage Workshop, white glue (or Modge Podge collage glue) and a foam brush.

I first cut out all my favorite images using the click-n-cut pdf versions of my favorite Mother’s Day collections.  Then I just layered them on making sure to leave a few of the ones with verses on top so you could read them.  Then I glued them on with the white glue and the foam brush. The only tip I will say is be careful when using images with a lot of black ink.  The dark ink will tend to smear when wet.

I put all my vintage sewing trinkets, silver bracelets and other little gifts into the boxes and then wrapped them with a ribbon bow.  I know my best friend still uses her box for a jewelry keepsake box on her dresser.  It’s a container that is also a gift!

Until next time…
