Mixing sewing resources with paper projects can help get your creative juices flowing. I created these wonderful note cards using several of our background imagery collections and applique patterns from our sister company, Indygo Junction’s book Scrapworks. The whimsical designs are embellished with buttons, and stitching details are added with a fine point pen.
This technique can be used with most applique patterns.
Step 1. Collect patterns from our printing press collections. Reduce them proportionally to fit your card. Print them onto paper.
Step 2. Reduce the pattern pieces from the Scrapworks book to desired size for your card and trace them onto the sheet of printing press designs.
Step 3. Assemble the pieces of your design and adhere using double stick tape or adhesive of your choice. Finish with your choice of embellishments and pen work.
