Shadow Box of Sewing Ephemera

I love creating things using vintage sewing items I’ve collected over the years. My question was always how do I should off my treasures in a way that looks nice and allows me to be creative.  I was inspired by a beautiful shadow box created by Beth Leintz, fellow artist and friend of The Vintage Workshop. She created the box shown above using real vintage notions like buttons, needles, tags and a measuring tape. She coupled that with some great Vintage Workshop artwork - the sewing mom & daughter (found in Needle Arts I - IE158 Download Collection) and the needle case image (found in Sewing Ephemera - IE444 Download Collection).

I created a few of my own sewing shadow boxes pictured below along with another shot of Beth’s with the cover of the shadow box in place. Let these examples inspire you to show of your (or your mother’s or grandmother’s) treasures using Vintage Workshop imagery to highlight your work.

I like the idea of using the vintage sewing items to make a sewing shadow item.

  3. With my husband retiring soon and I’m looking for him a place to store his medals. It’s tough trying to find a good reliable site that you can trust. Booked marked and will be visiting again…Thanks!
